Gods Comment

With the news that the current head of the worlds 1.3 Billion Roman Catholics, Pope Benedict XVI is to abdicate on health grounds (rather than die, which has been the traditional route for giving up the Papacy), the world was stunned.

Lightening Strikes St Pauls Basilica After Pope Resigns
God Speaks Out?

However, for several hours, no one really knew what to say ......

Although not unknown, the last instance was 4 July 1415, when Pope Gregory XII resigned his office as part of a settlement to end the farce of the "The Great Schism" when there were three rival Popes (two of whom are considered to be Anti-Popes). But one voice appeared to speak out after lightening struck St Paul's Basilica in Rome that night.

Now in an earlier age (or in certain areas even now?), this would have been seen as an omen of Gods displeasure ..... Christian worlds would have trembled, Crowns wobbled and Empires been shaken .....

What a difference two hundred years or so makes ...... Thank God!!

All comments are welcomed, or even just thanks if you enjoyed the post. But please make any comment relevant to the post it appears under. Off topic comments will be blocked or removed.

Moderation is on for older posts to stop spamming and comments that are off topic or inappropriate from being posted .... comments are reviewed within 48 hours. I don't block normal comments that are on topic and not inappropriate. Vexatious comments that may cause upset to other commentators, or that are attempting to espouse a particular wider political view, are reviewed before acceptance. But a certain amount of debate around a post topic is accepted, as long as it remains generally on topic and is not an attempt to become sounding board for some other cause.

Final decision on all comments is held by the blog author and is final.
