King Kong - The Musical

The art of Animatronics (which is the use of mechatronics to create machines which seem animate rather than robotic) has really grown recently, especially with the interest of Dinosaurs. A few years ago I saw giants walking through Manchester and was amazed.

So no apologies for posting on the fact that there is going to be a 'King Kong' the musical in Melbourne Australia this year at the Regent Theatre for which exciting photos have been released.

I have no idea if the musical is going to be any good, but bloody hell what a stage set they are creating.

It's time like this that I really regret not living in a big urban area, because this will never be put on near me.

And while you can see the puppeteers on the lighted stage, once its lit properly, it will be awesome ... six metres tall, weighs more than a tonne he's one hell of a guy.

    1. Yes I agree, it does look fantastic, but they live or die by the music, so looks may not ensure a shows survival.

  2. I'm not a fan of musicals (at all!) but the animatronics does look impressive.
