Wacko In Waco (part 2)

In another one of those strange coincidences which we have discussed before, the news in the UK was full of tales of the latest results of a bloody biker battle in ..... Waco Texas. This barely a week after I had discussed strange political goings on surrounding that location.

The reports were that nine people were killed, 18 injured and at least another 170 arrested (bail being set bail set at $1 million), and over 300 weapons retrieved, after a shoot-out between rival biker gangs, the Bandidos and the Cossacks in Waco, Texas, in a sort of territory war ... it was apparently provoked over parking spaces in the bar car park. The fight started with punches and then escalated to chains, clubs, knives and finally firearms, with over 100 rounds of ammunition fired off. One officer on the radio reports said that it was the worst incident of its kind that he had seen in over 34 years of Texas law enforcement.

Eerie Indiana Is Rivalled By Waco Texas For Strangeness

What gave this its Eerie in Indiana element was that the battle took place in the Twin Peaks Sports Bar and Grill .... I understand from its Wiki page, that the attraction of this particular chain of sports bars may hold to bikers is that it is known for having its waitresses dress in revealing uniforms that consist of cleavage- and midriff-revealing red plaid tops, as well as khaki short shorts ... the 'Twin Peaks' are presumably in the cleavage. But of course to those of us less inclined towards 'Hogs and Ho's', Twin Peaks conjures up a different image.

I immediately thought of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper investigating the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer. First broadcast on April 8, 1990, and airing in the US until June 10, 1991 it was a cult show in the US and UK. Of course the show's title comes from a small, fictional Washington town in which it is set, and not from Texas.

Mention of Twin Peaks Conjures Up A Different Image

However, before this latest incident, Waco was best remembered for another bout of violence ... the Waco siege of 1993. This was a siege of the compound belonging to religious group, Branch Davidians, by Texas state law enforcement, military forces, backing up American Federal Agents, between February 28 and April 19, 1993 which ended with 76 people dead.

Oh and in another strange post incident link .... these screen shots are from the Twin Peaks bar web adverts .... they almost seem to presage the latest events. Firstly the Twin Peaks they are referring to, which attracts bikers, then the 'party' reference, then the war/military and battle call to ignite the summer, with a final invite to have a happy hour.

Reasons To Visit A Twin Peaks Bar

Admittedly I am stretching it a little, but the two biker gangs came to see twin peaks, and have a 'party', they made it a memorable day, by igniting the summer, and presumably had a happy hour.

Of such nonsense, entire web conspiracies are born .....

  1. I heard that they'd met in the car park to discuss and resolve their issues and that a small argument escalated. True or not, they obviously came packing which is not the way enter into negotiations.

    1. The NY times reported 'Rebel Kurds Keep Guns Close at Hand in Peace Talks With Turkey' .... so they obviously use a different negotiations ploy in the Middle east and Texas ....
