Contagious Madness

PC Madness is a contagion .... as discussed in an earlier post this madness has infected Liberal educational establishments in the US, to the point that they discriminate against anyone who is not infected with the same madness as them.

This was highlighted when an un-tenured assistant professor at New York University, the liberal studies professor Michael Rectenwald, was removed from teaching classes by a 12-person committee calling itself the 'Liberal Studies Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Working Group', who don't actually agree with diversity of opinion, equality of views, or inclusion of all .... preferring to brand and exclude all those who don't agree with their Neo-Fascist liberal values.

He had launched an undercover Twitter account called 'Deplorable NYU Prof' on September 12th last year, the aim of which was to argue against the latest campus trends like “safe spaces,” “trigger warnings” and the policing Halloween costumes and other aspects of control being exerted in academia’s growing PC culture.

His fear of “the PC Gestapo" who would ruin him if he put his name in the account caused him to remain anonymous. However in an interview in the Washington Square News, NYU’s Independent Student Newspaper, he admitted he was the Deplorable NYU Prof. His worst fears soon came true and he removed from teaching classes.

“I’m afraid my academic career is over,” Rectenwald said. “Academic freedom: It’s great, as long as you don’t use it.”

There's actually something funny about the way these left wing liberal committees act.  They see no irony that its they who censor, they who persecute, they who pillory and hound people, and they who ruin careers, and all in the name of socially 'progressive views', which are exactly the opposite of progressive.

The parallels with the way that hard-line religionists act towards those who disagree with them, is also something eludes them.

  1. As a general rule, I don't think that America gets irony. Alanis Morissette famously, and ironically, didn't sing about it!

    1. Generalisations are as a rule inaccurate. However with the PC Left its hard not to draw them. The news that NHS Doctors have been instructed not to call pregnant women 'mothers' over fears they might offend transgender people simply reinforces that view.

All comments are welcomed, or even just thanks if you enjoyed the post. But please make any comment relevant to the post it appears under. Off topic comments will be blocked or removed.

Moderation is on for older posts to stop spamming and comments that are off topic or inappropriate from being posted .... comments are reviewed within 48 hours. I don't block normal comments that are on topic and not inappropriate. Vexatious comments that may cause upset to other commentators, or that are attempting to espouse a particular wider political view, are reviewed before acceptance. But a certain amount of debate around a post topic is accepted, as long as it remains generally on topic and is not an attempt to become sounding board for some other cause.

Final decision on all comments is held by the blog author and is final.
