The World Views Of Confidence In President Trump's Policies, Shows Where His Friends Are ...... |
Many Presidents have been more popular aboard than at home.
President Obama for instance scored high popularity ratings abroad throughout his terms of office. Similarly President Clinton had, and retained, similarly high satisfaction ratings abroad, despite his travails at home.
President Trump however ...... well his world opinion ratings are not so great. The Pew Research Centre, interviewed more than 40,000 people in 37 countries this year comparing the opinion of his policies with those of his predecessor President Obama.
In general the policies were found to be broadly unpopular, which may or may not be an issue for a President if he only wants to 'put America first'. But also they found that in fact, possibly for the only time in history, he is an American President who is more popular in Russia than his predecessors.
Whilst among the traditional US allies, the confidence in the US Presidency has dropped the most .... whilst in 26 of the 37 countries where people were questioned, more than half of respondents considered Mr Trump dangerous. Trump did score highly as a 'strong leader', though this was tempered with the strong view that he was unqualified for the role.
Is Trump A Clown? |
What I found interesting about all of this, is that they never thought to ask how many people thought President Trump was a clown? Surely that would have been an overwhelming response?
He's perhaps the first American President who doesn't look any different when you put him in a clown suit. Trump's successor will have some big shoes to fill!
ReplyDeleteLOL .... only CoCo the clown could fill those shoes!
