We in the west are constantly having to listen to pressure groups of various sorts, from black peoples, women, homosexuals, trans-genders, Muslims, the disabled, and probably more others than you can point a pointy stick at, complaining about 'discrimination'.
Discrimination in this context invariably means that they want more money and rights than the rest of us, from all female lists for political jobs, to a quota of black males for all football managers jobs ....
So it should be no big surprise, when yet another group tags itself to the role call of claimants for more of the pie .... however its a surprise when you find out who it is who is accused of doing the discriminating.
Yes its those old cuddly and misunderstood peoples, 'The Vikings' ..... yes really. In this case the complainer was a Christian girl, who had applied for a job as a wilderness guide with the Norwegian Amaruk Wilderness Corp, which runs treks in Canada's north. She was an experienced rafting guide and a graduate of Trinity Western University (a Christian college which can exclude students who don't sign up to a covenant prohibiting sex outside of heterosexual marriage), who expected to at least get an interview, instead she claims she got a 'shocking' rejection letter.
In her own words " ... I did feel really attacked on the basis that I'm a Christian."
The rejection letter from hiring manager Olaf Amundsen, who describes himself as "a Viking with a PhD in Norse culture", said:
"The Norse background of most of the guys at the management level means that we are not a Christian organization, and most of us actually see Christianity as having destroyed our culture tradition and way of life." .... he followed this up with an email by stating "In asking students to refrain from same-sex relationships, Trinity Western University, and any person associated with it, has engaged in discrimination."
The Christian replied to his email "I signed it God Bless, probably partially because I knew it would irritate them.", but has also made a discrimination complaint to the British Columbia human rights tribunal, and her lawyer says he'll seek compensation for injury to her feelings and self-respect. The Viking Amundsen says that she was not qualified for the job.
Its probably only a matter of a few years before the logic of all this, leads to every job requiring the interview of a black male, a female (of any colour), a disabled person (of any sex and colour), and then some people who may actually be fully qualified for the job in question. Of course this will then open the path for a flood of 'discrimination' law suits if any of the 'tokens' on each interview fails to get the jobs.
But what the hey, we only need to tie ourselves up in PC multicultural knots for a few more decades, before we sink forever, under the waves of our past history that come washing up to our shores everyday, all trying to claim their share of the New Jerusalem aka the welfare state .

Moderation is on for older posts to stop spamming and comments that are off topic or inappropriate from being posted .... comments are reviewed within 48 hours. Vexatious comments that may cause upset to other commentators, or that are attempting to espouse a particular wider political view, are reviewed before acceptance. But a certain amount of debate around a post topic is accepted, as long as it remains generally on topic and is not an attempt to become sounding board for some other cause.
