Pampered Peacocks

Those naughty Saudi Royals have had a bit of a rude awakening.

How The Mighty Are Humbled - For Now ....

One of their own, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has had dozens of people - including 11 of those errant Princes arrested.

Amongst those caught up in the Web are Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, a man who has featured on this blog in the past. He has had 4 wives and a gold plated throne on his own private Boeing 707.

Others arrested include billionaires and media heads.

Of course this being Saudi Arabia, they are not in prison but locked up in the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Riyadh. This because in Saudi there "is no jail for Royals"..... don't hold your breath on anyone getting convicted. However sleeping on mattresses thrown on the floor is probably like hell for many of these pampered peacocks.

  1. Coupled with the promise of letting their women drive, there's good news in there somewhere.
    Time will tell though.

    1. I am not sure that letting women drive is much of a reform. This looks far more like a power play by the heir to throne to disable any opponents.

  2. More like that he liberate some funds to pay for his vision program. Enough stolen funds in that room to pay for a complete program.

    1. Thanks for the link. My Granny would have called it 'swanky' but then she thought lions tea houses were 'posh' as well.

    1. As mentioned in the posting ... in Saudi there "is no jail for Royals". So it has now been proved as they are nearly all cut pardon deals.

    2. The last of the big fish is out ..... as Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has been released, after months at Riyadh's Ritz-Carlton hotel, his family say. So that's that then.
