Bad Ideas

There are times when you seriously have to wonder what goes through some peoples minds .... I give you: A statue of St. Martin de Porres .....

St. Martin de Porres 'Handing out' Bread

Blackfriars Priory School in Adelaide Australia have since covered this up with a black cloth, and are wondering what to do with the statue they innocently commissioned.

Then there is The Jesus light switch .....

Jesus Shows Kids How To Turn On The Light

...... Oops.  But perhaps the oddest is this ....

Norwegian Statue - Vigeland Sculpture Park

Which is apparently meant to be four child-shaped 'genii' spirits attacking a naked man .... why? No one knows. Some things are obviously not really thought through, because otherwise they would never have seen the light of day.

  1. One has to wonder how many people saw these designs before they were installed for the unsuspecting public. I only hope that there are hundreds of others which never made it so far and that these ones just somehow fell between the cracks. In another sense, thank goodness for those cracks - what sort of world would it be without a betraying Jesus light switch.

    2. I thought that was how you got a camel. When a committee try to design a horse ... in other words a cock up.

All comments are welcomed, or even just thanks if you enjoyed the post. But please make any comment relevant to the post it appears under. Off topic comments will be blocked or removed.

Moderation is on for older posts to stop spamming and comments that are off topic or inappropriate from being posted .... comments are reviewed within 48 hours. I don't block normal comments that are on topic and not inappropriate. Vexatious comments that may cause upset to other commentators, or that are attempting to espouse a particular wider political view, are reviewed before acceptance. But a certain amount of debate around a post topic is accepted, as long as it remains generally on topic and is not an attempt to become sounding board for some other cause.

Final decision on all comments is held by the blog author and is final.
