Soul Singer Leo Kenny (aka Stephen Smith) .... |
Its probably not too harsh to say that he's not made any great breakthrough, and at the age of 70 is not likely to now....
So its perhaps ironic that the first time he gets some national press coverage its not because of his singing, but for fighting off criminals.
Spanner In The Works ... |
He had just been down to his local shops to buy some adjustable metal spanners from B&Q when a gang of thugs with their faces covered attacked. He had opened his car door and was just sitting down when they attacked. He punched and shut the door on one of his assailants, but another got into the passenger side seat.
"He tried to snatch the car keys out my hand so I whacked him with the spanners on the arm and in the chest, and he shot out of the door. They were aged between 16 to 17 and they picked the wrong car."
Ironically the car they wanted to steal was actually a garage loan, as his own was being repaired .... as usual there were no arrests and the police said: “The area where this occurred is a popular place for shoppers and we believe there will have been people who saw what happened, or who saw the suspects running from the scene. We would similarly appeal to anyone with footage of the incident or the suspects which they may have on their phones or dash cams."
Well at least he left one of them in an ocean of pain .....
Did you know that "sabotage" comes from the french for clogs or similar footwear (sabot) which workers threw into machinery which was taking their jobs?
ReplyDeleteAs it happens I did. Thanks for the reminder though.
