.... and I am not talking Bridget Jones underwear.
Take Knickers, a seven-year-old Holstein Friesian steer (an ex-bull ... if you know what I mean). Just like Topsy he just grew, and grew, and grew.
Now he's some 220st (1,400kg) and 6ft 4in (194cm), and he's believed to be the biggest steer in Australia .... so big in fact, that when sent for slaughter the abattoirs said he was too big for them to handle and refused to kill him. So its a gentle future for Knickers who the butchers estimated would produce around 1,400 lbs of trimmed 'saleable' beef - enough for 450 cuts of steak and 370kg of mince.
Instead he will now reportedly live out the rest of his life on the Lake Preston feedlot, in Myalup, 85 miles (136km) south of Perth. He will continue his job as the steer for hundreds of Wagyu cattle (who are largely dark brown) ..... his actual title is a cattle "coach" - a steer that leads other cattle around. Sadly Knickers isn't actually the biggest steer in the world .... that honour goes to Bellino in Italy, who was 6ft 6in (198.12cm) tall when he was last measured.
But already a rival from Canada has emerged in the form of Dozer, who at just over 6ft 5in, is described as a "gentle giant" and is said to be one inch taller than Knickers.
But final quote from the Australian farmer, who said that they didn't realise when they bought Knickers at the age of about 12 months, that he would "... turn into a big knickers."
