There's something about some tourists that can be incredibly annoying. Being bloody stupid is one of those things.
Take the female Canadian tourist who was visiting Wales, and who crashed her car into a road signpost. She told the police that she thought a bear was attacking her.
The bear in question was a 10ft wooden model outside the town of Llanwrtyd Wells in Powys. It has stood there for 15 years and was once part of a shopping display. Now, because of the stupidity of one foreign tourist the Welsh Assembly are considering ordering it's removal as a 'road distraction'.
Not unnaturally many local residents are unhappy that a local landmark may be removed because of one bloody tourist. One resident said the statue was the "figurehead to the gateway to the crazy town". In a desperate effort to save it the residents had a teddy bears picnic in order to save the bear statue.
They are urging assembly members to show some common sense ....
.... Not something politicians are renowned for. The best offer is to rehouse it and the accompanying eagle "to an area of land where they are still visible but do not present a hazard to passing motorists."
Frankly, they should have just left them where they were.

Moderation is on for older posts to stop spamming and comments that are off topic or inappropriate from being posted .... comments are reviewed within 48 hours. Vexatious comments that may cause upset to other commentators, or that are attempting to espouse a particular wider political view, are reviewed before acceptance. But a certain amount of debate around a post topic is accepted, as long as it remains generally on topic and is not an attempt to become sounding board for some other cause.
