James Cooper is man with need for speed ......
whilst drunk he decided to steal a vehicle in Manchester in which to joyride .....
However, the imbecile picked a milk float (top speed 10mph - aka jogging speed). He actually caught the vehicle as it hurtled along the road at top speed. He then threatened the milkman, and took control of the vehicle, and drove off .... the milkman refused to be cowed by this, and gave chase to the vehicle on foot, and this time he also caught up with the runaway vehicle, then overpowered Mr Cooper, and restrained him until the police arrived.
Mr Cooper, who actually resides in Chilham, Kent, and was in Manchester for some undisclosed reason, had been drinking in the cities bars and later in an all night casino, which is why he was walking around at 05:30am in the city centre. He was later found to be over three times the drink driving limit. He informed the police that as well as drinking 10 pints, he had also taken anti-depressants. He couldn't recall the events, apart from the handcuffs being slapped on him by the police.
In court, he admitted stealing the milk float, and driving whilst over the limit. He was given a 26 month driving ban, and a curfew between 7pm and 7am for the same period .... he also is to attend rehabilitation courses for his drinking and drug issues.
Sometimes, you cant make these stories up, and just have to report them ...

Moderation is on for older posts to stop spamming and comments that are off topic or inappropriate from being posted .... comments are reviewed within 48 hours. I don't block normal comments that are on topic and not inappropriate. Vexatious comments that may cause upset to other commentators, or that are attempting to espouse a particular wider political view, are reviewed before acceptance. But a certain amount of debate around a post topic is accepted, as long as it remains generally on topic and is not an attempt to become sounding board for some other cause.
Final decision on all comments is held by the blog author and is final.
