..... have been donated to Blackpool Zoo.

The drug farm on the Apex trading estate, had been capable of turning out over £4,000,000 of  cannabis, and was dismantled, and police investigators estimated that nearly £20,000 worth of specialist heating equipment was being used to hothouse between 8,000 and 10,000 cannabis plants there. However they also found that one portion of the heating equipment was still boxed up and unused, and valued at about £5,000, and its this equipment that has now been donated to the zoo.

The zoo described the gifted items as "fabulous equipment", and has confirmed that  "It is now in use in various reptile enclosures and aquariums across the zoo and will help to promote natural behaviours in the animals and encourage plant growth. Our butterfly Goodeids (small fish), which are considered extinct in the wild, along with our Caiman, prehensile-tailed Skinks and red bellied Piranhas are all benefiting from the new kit."

"Huge thanks go to Lancashire Police, this donation really is very gratefully received."

In a final twist of something good coming from something bad .... some of the unused bedding found at the premises, has also been donated to a local charity, and the unused plant pots and canes found there, were donated to an allotment group in Padiham, Lancashire.
