Toby Carvery's are a buffet style restaurant in the UK .....
..... it specialises in roast meals, offering Roast Beef, Pork, Turkey's, Glazed Gammon (and Lamb on Sundays), with all the roast meals extras such as ruffled Roast Potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, and unlimited veg.
They are popular with families as a quick and easy way to have a big roast meal without the cooking or washing up, and are usually noisy (usually kids running everywhere), but peaceful places.
However, as we have seen before on this blog ..... South Wales is a very different land to the rest of the country. So perhaps its no big surprise that in early December 2019, there was 'an incident' inside and outside the Toby Carvery in Caerphilly, South Wales.
The incident started when two women began to exchange words at the gravy station section of the restaurant .... before a fully fledged argument broke out. Witnesses said both the women were in their 30s, and the argument began over queue jumping claims. There had clearly been a drink or two consumed.
It was claimed that the pair, who were from two different Christmas parties, had to be separated by their respective partners, but the argument flared up again after further words were exchanged, and the two women were asked to go outside, where the argument continued and became physical with wrestling and blows being exchanged in the car park.
A witness said: "It was all very festive, and then it all got very heated as the pair were at the gravy station."
Police said "Officers attended after being called to an incident, and a 35-year-old woman from the Pwllypant area was arrested and has been charged with assault."
The moral of this, and all the other South Wales stories are that, they truly are a breed apart, and their women are not to be messed with.
