..... a German teenager had his licence suspended for 4 weeks, and faced extensive (and expensive) retesting before he could drive again.
He lost his licence after he was spotted by traffic police, doing 95km/h (60mph) in a 50km/h (30mph) zone and was arrested. "Some things last forever - others not for an hour," German police wrote in their statement .... a rather philosophical police officer that one.
Idiocracy
Half of all UK children under the age of 10 still can't tie their own laces. 42 per cent can't tell the time. While 25 per cent can't use a knife and fork.
However all is not lost in the idiocracy, because two thirds can work an iPad and computers (including 40 per cent who could code, and 55 per cent who can edit YouTube videos). Thank God for Velcro being invented before this lot grow up, is what I say.
Violent Times?
A study by the Millennium Cohort Study has found that violence, and drug and alcohol usage were all at higher levels in 14 year olds than had been previously estimated. For instance a third of all 14 year olds have 'shoved, slapped, or hit' another person. This was 41 per cent amongst boys, and 21 per cent of girls.
Now I don't know about you, but I immediately spotted the inflation buster here, 'Shoving' .... its common amongst both sexes for a bit of shoving to others of the same or opposite sex, to be part of growing up. I don't know what the figures would have been like without 'shoving', but I'll bet they would be far lower.
Once you allow PC thinking (e.g. every little shove is 'violence'), then your study loses its potency and its point. If we are going to set social policy by these studies then we have to be strict about criteria.
Coals To Newcastle
Doctors from the fertility education initiative (a special interest group of the British Fertility Society), have urged the government to ensure that sex education in the UK includes classes on how to get pregnant .... WTF? Talk about 'Coals to Newcastle'.
Have these doctors never been to a council estate? Teen girls in the UK need little or no help in getting pregnant.

Teenage apprentices at Kirkdale Industrial Training Service Centre in Brighouse, West Yorkshire had to ask for the toilet roll when they go to the toilet. This is reported as being because of acts of 'Wanton Vandalism' by someone, forcing managers to remove the toilet rolls from the (male?) toilets.
I think we have all worked in a workplace where toilet vandalism has occurred .... usually associated to one individual as it stops after a while. Its a phenomenon that's rarely discussed, for all the fact that its not unknown.
