A longer or shorter lifetime is a question we will all face at sometime .....

| The Future Can Seem Like Another, Distant Land |
... if you are diagnosed with a bad disease, such as cancer or maybe a serious heart condition, this question arises earlier rather than later in life
.... but it eventually comes to us all at sometime or other.
So I guess that we will all have to consider one vital question .... whether 'If the extension of my life would result in a mere biological existence,devoid of cognitive function, with no reasonable hope for normal functioning, then I do not desire any form of life-sustaining procedures.' .... or perhaps you want to just hang about whatever your mental and physical state.

However I suspect that most of us will really consider whether we have any regrets .... personally I think that when my time comes (and after dodging the bullet several times more than most people in a life time, I accept its not so far away now), its not going to be whether or not I had climbed a particular mountain, or made a million in my career ...

| A Lot Of Descendants Is Achievement Enough For Some |
... or even if I have left a lot of children or not, that will be my regret.
No, my regret will be that I won't see the future and know how it all turns out ..... I think about this periodically, especially at this time of year as time marches relentlessly onwards, while the clock runs down for me.
Still a few more years yet I hope ....
