The Birth Of A New Sport? |
...... to stop throwing their children over the locked school gates when they were running late for school.
The school put up signs warning of the danger of throwing a child over the fence, to try to stop parents from doing so. It requested that the parents please wait for the gates to reopen at 10:00am or 15:00 pm.
The school head teacher, Sanaa Meziane, told the local news outlet 'La Provence', that they are tired of dealing with "irresponsible" parents who arrive late, and throw their children over the fence into school.
"It hasn't happened that many times, but as little as it happened, we preferred to get ahead of it. Parents who arrived after the bell were literally throwing their children."
Its not reported whether busy parents obeyed but of course events have overtaken this sign, as many children are schooling from home. But what drew me to this story was the thought that maybe we have the birth of a new sport here?
