.... that we relish moaning about it, especially the summer weather.
In a multiple choice questionnaire created by drink firm Noveltea, some 52 per cent confirmed that they actually enjoyed moaning about summer weather as it changed. Especially whether it was too hot or too cold or too wet.

The next two highest pleasure were hearing the sound of the ice-cream van arriving on the street (34 per cent of vote), and then ordering a 99 ice cream with Cadburys flake down the middle (40 per cent of vote).
Other things we like to enjoy or talk about during the great British summer are:
- The smell of sun cream on a hot day.
- Strawberries and Cream (particularly during Wimbledon fortnight).
- Meat cooking on a BBQ.
- People getting their shorts on at the first hint of a bit of sunshine.
- The sound and smell of new mown grass.
- People moaning about getting sunburnt on the first sunny day.
- Consuming a cold pint of beer with a packet of crisps (chips) in a pub garden.
- Making a big fuss over a wasp sting.
- Watching cricket all day.
Oddly, I suspect that our cooler summers may well be something of a godsend in the coming decades as global warming really grips countries with more continental weather.
