False Alarm

When a farm hand in Kinyana village Kenya thought he saw a lion just outside his employer's home ...

... he raised the alarm, as the employer wasn't home.

Three armed Kenyan wildlife officers cautiously approached the homestead, fearing that a rogue male lion could be loose in the area, especially as residents had recently reported that some of their livestock had gone missing.

They advised locals to stay indoors and lock their doors and when the homestead owner  arrived back home, she was told about the lion and was advised to enter her house through the door on the opposite side of the building from the hedge ... so she didn't think about it.

However when the officers approached the hedge where the lion had been spotted .... but all they found was a shopping bag in a hedge ... with a lions head on it. The owner had put it there with some seedlings it, to stop them drying out.

She hadn't made the connection between the lion report and her lion decorated bag containing her seedlings because she had entered her property by the other entrance.
