Brutal Policing States

More than 1,300 people were arrested for unsanctioned protesting against the order, by Russian President Vladimir Putin, that a further 300,000 Russian men were to be called up go fight in his war against the Ukraine ...

Russian Protestors Meet Usual Police Brutality
Russian Protestors Meet Usual Brutality

... the protests were met with the usual dictatorship brutality, which we see in all authoritarian states similar to Russia.

To add further insult to injury, its said that 16 people detained at protests against mobilisation, were also given a summons to report for military duty, and will have been sent to fight.

A queue of at least 5km (3.1 miles) built up on the Russian side of the Georgian border as men tried to escape being called up to fight in an increasingly unpopular and long term war, that will certainly stretch over the winter, and Georgia is one of the few remaining countries Russians can reach without a visa.

But its noticeable that many other authoritarian regimes mete out similar rough justice to anyone who challenges or dissents ....

In Iran, the death of Mahsa Amini in the hands of Iran's Morality Police set off a weeks protests ...

but the Iranian police are brutal too men as well ....

The Chinese police take no prisoners either ....

In the Arab world .... Bahrain Police openly beat Shia protesters .....

and nearer to home we have the authoritarian regime of Türkiye under President Erdoğan ....

.... even when they are operating illegally abroad ..... like on a visit to the USA ....

 Or to Ecuador .....

These regimes, all use their law enforcement and security apparatus in much the same way to suppress protest, dissent and criticism .... funny coincidence that, eh?
