In
October 2021, an unnamed Lithuanian man was rushed to Klaipeda
University Hospital (KUH), on the Baltic Sea coast by ambulance with
severe abdominal pain.
He's Screwy |
The X-Ray's astounded the surgeons, when they saw that his stomach was full of nails, screws, nuts and knives.
They operated immediately and removed more than 2 pounds (over a kilogram) of metal objects, some of which were 4 inches (10cm) long, from the mans stomach, and intestines.
When questioned the man, a recovering alcoholic, admitted that he had developed the strange addiction after after quitting alcohol. The surgeon who performed the operation, Sarunas Dailidenas, called it a "unique case".
The man was reported to be in a stable condition after the surgery, and was being monitored (and presumably kept away from surgical instruments), at the KUH.

Moderation is on for older posts to stop spamming and comments that are off topic or inappropriate from being posted .... comments are reviewed within 48 hours. I don't block normal comments that are on topic and not inappropriate. Vexatious comments that may cause upset to other commentators, or that are attempting to espouse a particular wider political view, are reviewed before acceptance. But a certain amount of debate around a post topic is accepted, as long as it remains generally on topic and is not an attempt to become sounding board for some other cause.
Final decision on all comments is held by the blog author and is final.
