| Chad Albert Mason A Dog Lover? |
.... that the term 'Florida Man' is now an Internet byword for strange behaviour.
And with inhabitants like Chad Albert Mason, a 36 year old 'Florida Man' (if ever there was one), you can see why. On the 4th of December 2022 he offered to take an acquaintances Goldendoodle for a walk, at the 2600 block of McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater Florida. However as soon as he was outside, he sexually abused the puppy by inserting his member into its backside. This act was observed by multiple witnesses, including a child, before he fled after one of the bystanders challenged him.
During his flight he stopped to destroy a nativity scene at Northwood Presbyterian Church (as well as shattering several of the church’s potted planters, causing an estimated $400 worth of additional damage), then he went into another neighbourhood and ripped a mailbox off a residence’s property, and finally entered an unoccupied vehicle, attempting unsuccessfully to steal it.
He was tracked down and taken into custody by the Clearwater Police on Sunday the 4th of December 2022, and charged with multiple crimes, including one count of sexual activity involving an animal and two counts each of exposure of sexual organs and lewd or lascivious exhibition. He was booked in a Pinellas County jail before he was released on bond.
A Florida law passed in 2021, made sexual acts involving animals a sex crime. According to the statute, a violator can be charged with a first-degree misdemeanour, and be sentenced to up to one year of jail time and subjected to a $1,000 fine. Mr Chad Albert Mason has apparently been in trouble in the past.
Sadly his fate is unknown to me, but I am assuming that some jail time was served.
