| Canadian MP Anthony Rota Should Have Questioned His Guest. |

Donald Trump is a prime example of this, such as claiming the previous Presidential election was stolen, or on the day of the accident, that the tragic Washington air-crash was the result of the democrats diversity hiring in air traffic control staff .... (although these statements could also be deemed as deliberate).
But, whatever, they never seem to learn. Take Canadian MP Anthony Rota. He attended a session of the Canadian Parliament in which the guest speaker was Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky .... in a moment of inspiration, Mr Rota decided to bring his own guest .... Yaroslav Hunka, a 98 year old Ukrainian who had emigrated to Canada after the war. The Canadian Deschenes Commission determined in 1980's that membership in the Waffen-SS was not, in of itself, a war crime.
He described him as a "War Hero" who had fought for Ukraine against Russia in WWII and introduced him to President Zelensky ... what he forgot to find out was that the 'hero' had done his fighting against the USSR as a part of an Nazi SS division, the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division which took part in massacres of Polish citizens.

When this emerged, Mr Rota was forced to resign as an MP ..... Oops, another casualty of not checking his facts.
