The Wild Rover

When a man left his £110k Range Rover with a parking firm at Manchester Airport he fully expected to see it when he returned from his holiday in Majorca.

Careless Parking By Airport Car Storage Company
Careless Parking ......

What he didn't expect was that it would be, as he described it "smashed to smithereens" ...

.... the parking firm 'Meet and Greet Manchester Airport Parking' told the press that "While taking his vehicle to our compound, it had a collision with two buses. We are investigating". What I like is the "two buses" .... not one, but two!

Uber Man

The rise of Uber has come at the expense of the checks that a taxi company should be making. Juma Ali Omar crashed his car while driving for Uber, injuring 11 people outside the Natural History Museum in London. When arrested it was found that he had no valid driving licence, insurance or indeed any legal right to reside in the UK. All his documents, were found to be cheap fakes, and he was in fact an illegal immigrant from Nigeria. I never use Uber!

Motocross

Nearly half the 90 million people in Vietnam own a motorbike. Many are old vehicles, and so Vietnam, and the city of Hanoi in particular, suffers from noise and air pollution.

Authorities in the city plan to ban them from the streets from 2030. I assume they will replace them with old combustion engined cars instead ... Yeah much cleaner!

Moderation is on for older posts to stop spamming and comments that are off topic or inappropriate from being posted .... comments are reviewed within 48 hours. I don't block normal comments that are on topic and not inappropriate. Vexatious comments that may cause upset to other commentators, or that are attempting to espouse a particular wider political view, are reviewed before acceptance. But a certain amount of debate around a post topic is accepted, as long as it remains generally on topic and is not an attempt to become sounding board for some other cause.

Final decision on all comments is held by the blog author and is final.
