| Kids Always Like Museums .... |
and then increasingly by ourselves, were part of the fun of the summer school holidays.
These included the park, the local beach (by train or bus when we were old enough to go by ourselves), the zoo, and the cinema, but most of all to the museums, because they were local and free, and we usually had no money. But it appears that today's parents (generation X and millennials), are as hopeless at parenting as they are everything else, and are generally not taking their kids anywhere.
A poll by children's channel Nick Jr, found that half of all today's parents have never taken their children to a museum. And in fact a third have never played 'catch' or even gone to a park and fed the ducks with their children. When questioned further half the parents blamed the coronavirus pandemic, or poor finances .... both of which are rather pathetic excuses really as parks and museums are free ... and you can play 'catch' in your own garden for gods sake!
But nine out ten of the parents still claimed that their children were their top priority .... hah! Yet 65 per cent of those parents questioned said that they struggled to think of things to do with their kids .... they just aren't trying very hard are they!
