Courtney Healey, a 21yr old from from Maesteg in South Wales (The UK's Florida .... haha), was a healthcare support worker in the National Health Service.
Party Girl |
She was also a regular marijuana user, telling friends via texts that: “I smoke it every day. I feel like I might rip someone’s head off otherwise."
But she knew it was wrong, adding that “My mum would actually send me to jail if she found out I done it.” ..... Sadly for her, her mum didn't have to .... as the courts did it instead.
She had travelled over 200miles from Wales for a weekend at the Creamfields Music Festival
... but also carrying 8.9g of cocaine with her, after a man, already
inside the festival had offered to pay her £200 for them. However the
festival had a strict no drugs policy and advertised this fact, offering
ample opportunities for people to surrender drugs at the festival with
'amnesty' bins.
Undeterred, she attempted to smuggled the drugs
in, but when her tent was searched they were discovered and she was
arrested. She pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with the intent to
supply at Chester Crown Court ... where prosecutors said: "Multiple messages included Healey asking her friends in a group chat how they were taking their drugs in." Her defence attorney said correctly that: “This is a young woman who has ruined her life.”
She was jailed for three years after judge Steven Everett said: “Yes,
she can hang her head. This is not a naïve young woman is it? It shows
she is completely enveloped in the drug culture and is very blasé about
it. You can’t be both – a health care support worker, and somebody that
is involved in the supply of terrible class A drugs. And you chose the
latter."
Another life ruined by the drug culture ... but she is young and hopefully can learn the lesson and remake it.

Vexatious comments that may cause upset to other commentators, or that are attempting to espouse a particular wider political view, are reviewed before acceptance. But a certain amount of debate around a post topic is accepted, as long as it remains generally on topic and is not an attempt to become sounding board for some other cause.
