A coastal village in the west of Wales .....
..... could become the first place in modern UK history, to have to relocate its entire community due to climate change, according to the reports.
A plan drawn up by Gwynedd council reportedly concludes that flood defences for Fairbourne in Gwynedd West Wales can't be bolstered after 2054, due to ever rising sea levels. The reports say that Fairborne's 850 inhabitants could have to be moved elsewhere within the next 25 years.
Of course this isn't the only British village to be lost to the sea ..... half of Dunwich in Suffolk, England was lost to the sea in the Middle-Ages. In 1286 a storm surge hit the East Anglian coast, followed by a great storm in 1287, and another great storm also in 1287.
Now only a rump of the original capital of the Kingdom of the East Angles remains habitable.

By the lost town of Dunwich,
The shore was washed away.
They say you hear the church bells still,
As they toll beneath the waves.

Moderation is on for older posts to stop spamming and comments that are off topic or inappropriate from being posted .... comments are reviewed within 48 hours. I don't block normal comments that are on topic and not inappropriate. Vexatious comments that may cause upset to other commentators, or that are attempting to espouse a particular wider political view, are reviewed before acceptance. But a certain amount of debate around a post topic is accepted, as long as it remains generally on topic and is not an attempt to become sounding board for some other cause.
