Hungry Hungry Man

An Indian fast food delivery driver was dismissed by delivery firm Zomato .......

Hungry Horace ...... Or Hanvesh.

after being filmed eating mouthfuls of the food he a was delivering.

Social media users opinions fell between those who sympathised with the hungry man (who probably gets paid peanuts), and those who were disgusted ..... the delivery people for fast food have long complained about their rates of pay, and poor conditions, on what are effectively zero hour contracts.

The Indian national floor level minimum wage in India in 2023 was 178 Indian rupees (£1.74 / $2.14) per day, this has been unchanged for a number of years (despite the ongoing cost of living crisis). This National Floor Level Minimum Wage (NFLMW) is actually the minimum wage below which no state government can fix the minimum wage. Different Indian states can set their own minimum wages above that amount if they wish.

Wealth inequality in India is one of its greatest social problems ....
