Rise Of The Kraken
Recently a commenter mentioned the Kraken in connection to humans being attacked.
This caused me to think about cephalopod (The family group classification for all squid, octopuses, cuttlefish, and nautiluses), attacks on humans.

Dark Days For English Football
The apparent death of Bury Football Club (and with a very close squeak for Bolton, this week), this week, shouldn't come as much of a surprise. ....
... the English Football Leagues (EFL), which had boasted three full time divisions below the English Premier League, has been something of an anachronism for at least a decade, if not longer.

Political Ping and Pong
I am unable to write posts this week ... so just one composite post. Normal service back next week 👍
Effing Common Sense
Rochdale council suddenly had an outbreak of common sense, when they dropped plans to fine people £100 ($125) for swearing in the town centre.
When I say that they showed common sense I am being generous, as they only gave up after Greater Manchester Police pointed out that it would be virtually impossible to enforce the law, and human rights defenders said it risked breaching people rights.

New Tech, Old Method Prison Break
Jimmy Causey escaped from Leiber maximum security prison in Dorchester County, South Carolina, on 4th of July 2017, by having some fly wire cutters flown over the fence by drone.
He used a smuggled phone to co-ordinate his escape. He then cut through four defences, and left a dummy in his bed as a cover.

Just A Modern Day Teenage Tale
Simeon Adams aka "Red," was still aged 16, when he shot and killed 24-year-old Nathan Trapuzzano during a botched robbery in Indianapolis in April 2014 ...
.... he had already robbed a gun store of a large number of hand guns, in a crime committed a few weeks earlier, and was now using his favourite of the stolen guns, a .40-caliber pistol, to threaten his victims.

Freak Shows Return
In the Victorian times, many circuses and carnivals displayed freak shows in side tents, following a tradition that goes back to the 17th century, when princes around Europe would often have dwarves, midgets, and other human oddities in their courts and entourage.
Joseph Carey Merrick, better known as the Elephant man was perhaps the most famous of the Victorian era. But others of great fame were Tom Thumb, and the various Siamese twins who toured the world.
