Six women prisoners who are serving time for manslaughter, actual bodily harm and drug offences, staged a nude protest in a jail exercise yard at New Hall prison, West Yorkshire.
The six barricaded themselves in and threatened officers with table legs in the five-hour stand-off.
The group were apparently angered at being forcibly moved there from other jails in the UK. The women, who were aged 23 to 34, eventually gave up the protest at 8pm. The thing that brought this to my attention, was the rather dry comment from 'a source' (whether prisoner or guard was not reported), who said:
“They were screaming and shouting and threatening staff. It was pretty frightening to be honest — and that was just the sight of their naked bodies.”

There are times when it's best not to look. There was an incident from a beach in Bulgaria that I can't wipe from my memory bit looks like that lower picure.
ReplyDeleteHmm, this comment raises all sorts of questions with no way of satisfying them. Ah well, what happens in Bulgaria, stays in Bulgaria.
DeleteI also once had an incident on a Bulgarian beach. It appears that during the communist era some the current tourist beaches were nudism beaches. The idea was something to do with healthy body communism, apparently. Anyway there I was, on my beach bed when 3 elderly Bulgarian ladies strolled, stripped butt naked and laydown, legs spread to catch the rays! Its a vision that it took several years and a lot of alcohol to erase from the forefront of my brain.
DeleteErr, an interesting tale (to say the least). I guess the end of communism was a shock to many in Eastern Europe. Thanks for the comment.
