Sometime in 2012, someone placed a copy of a VHS tape on top of a Bus Shelter on the Old Kent Road in London ....

.... the tape in question was the great horror movie Hellraiser.

The tape, which were only visible from the top deck of a bus, or from Google street view and at one point in time, another version of the portal to Hell appeared alongside it, then other movies such as Toy Story and Jack.

Even when they disappeared (possibly removed by Council Workers), one would reappear again. At one point four copies of horror movies were on top of the bus shelter, and this continued, unexplained up to 2024. There was the usual social media chatter about the Cenobites opening a portal to South London etc, but no one could explain the matter, especially as who uses VHS tapes anymore?

Even when the old bus shelter was pulled down and replaced by a taller newer type in 2021, shortly afterwards, a new Hellraiser VHS tape appeared. Then in 2024 Radio 4 played an anonymous caller, who told them that they became fascinated by the first Hellraiser VHS on top of that bus stop and started adding more cassettes to bus shelters all over south London. The caller claimed that inspired by that first Hellraiser tape, they became a visual artist and that the tapes were not vandalism or littering, but a street art.
However the anonymous caller denied all knowledge of the first tape ..... "There's a council estate right above this particular stop and maybe a kid or someone living there threw it off their flat. How do these odds-and-ends find themselves on bus stops?"
..... Perhaps through a portal to hell?
