There's no doubting that the Arab world is more full of idiots than most. Their lawyers are no exception to the hyperbole that surrounds a world view, in which wild life is considered to be Israeli spies. They believe that every event is a plot against Islam and Muslims ....
... Heck, half of them think it was Zionists or US who attacked the twin towers in New York on 9/11 (or at the very least, organised it using gullible Saudi boys).
So it should be no surprise that Real Madrid footballer Sergio Ramos is being sued for €1 billion by an Egyptian lawyer, for injuring the Liverpool player Mohamed Salah in the Champions League final .....
..... Salah is of course Egyptian, and so tackling him was an affront to the Egyptian people.
Salah was forced off in tears with a suspected ligament damage of his shoulder, which initially was feared had ruled him out of the World Cup - Jurgen Klopp the Liverpool manager had said post-match that the injury was such that he likely he would miss the tournament - but the player is now "confident" of taking part.
However that hasn't prevented the Egyptian legal eagle, lawyer Bassem Wahba, from pressing ahead with his lawsuit, confirming this intention on Egyptian television. He claimed on the Sada El-Balad channel that
"Ramos intentionally injured Mo Salah and should be punished about his actions. I've filed a lawsuit and a complaint to Fifa. I'll ask for compensation, which could exceed €1 billion (£873 million), for the physical and psychological harm that Ramos gave Salah and the Egyptian people."
Now when you consider that Egyptian justice largely consists of only guilty verdicts (unless a bribe is paid to all concerned), so lawyers are just a façade on a corrupt system, perhaps it's no surprise that their lawyers have plenty of time on their hands to make grandstand gestures in a non Arab legal system that doesn't just play lip service to the law.
It will of course be dismissed as the laughable thing that it is .... but it shows you the strange mindset of a backward culture .... of course half of the Peoples Republic of Liverpool also believe the same conspiracy as the Egyptians!
