There are, as we have discussed some people who become crooks because they are simply too useless to be anything else ......
One Legged Bank Robber Arrested |
..... They often are crap crooks as well, for exactly same reasons as they fail at every thing else.
Take the 45 year old Italian wannabe bank robber from Alicante, Costa Blanca in Spain, who in September 2021 attempted to rob the Banco Sabadell in the town, with an accomplice. They were armed with fake weapons and disguised with a cap and glasses .... and the Italian robber was also armed with an obviously fake toy gun.
As he waived the fake gun at the somewhat bemused tellers, the customers and staff saw that they could overpower him, and so they wrestled him to the floor. Upon seeing this struggle, he was then abandoned by his more mobile partner-in-crime, who immediately fled the scene. So after losing his prosthetic leg in the tussle with the staff and customers, he was placed under 'citizens arrest' to await the arrival of the police. No money had been handed over during the event, and he was arrested by the police.
Banco Sabadell Alicante - Robbery Evidence |
The unnamed detainee, who was expected to appear in court for a remand hearing over the following weekend, is understood to have been known to police. Police were still hunting both the runaway accomplice, and some other people spotted outside the bank who are thought to have been working as look-outs .... another career move that failed.
Ironically, his son was later arrested in a €344,355 robbery at a Murcia bank in October 2022, along with four other Italians detained, who all came from Naples and had already clocked up criminal records in Italy, Spain and Belgium ... like father, like son, it seems.
While in the USA, a 68-year-old suspect robbed a down-town Fresno bank, while using a walker frame and did not have a weapon on him at the time of the robbery. The clerk said the suspect, an elderly man with a walker, approached the counter and provided a demand note for money. The clerk gave the man around $200, but with a tracking device enclosed, and the man very slowly left the bank with the money.
The staff at the Wells Fargo bank at Fresno Street and Van Ness Avenue, contacted Fresno Police at around 10:30 am to report that a robbery had taken place. The crook only managed to get a short distance away from the bank before he was arrested (still in effect just outside the bank). The suspects name was not officially released.
They both joined that great gang of crap bank robbers, which is headed by pensioner Alan Slattery, from St Leonards in Hastings .....
