Some people are either lucky or have a guardian angel ....
The SUV Is Now Out Of Control |
.... if your a Catholic priest, then its definitely the latter.
This is especially true if your blind in one eye and deaf (needing hearing aids in both ears) and are aged 87 .... which can hardly be called 'lucky'. So guardian angel it is then.
In November 2022, at around 8:40am, Catholic priest Father John Bok was driving on his way to celebrate a Mass at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Milford, Ohio, which somewhat ironically as it turned out, was dedicated to 'Guardian Angels', which he safely attended, completely unaware that he had just cheated injury or death during the trip.
This wasn't due to anything that he had done during the journey, which as far as he was concerned had been uneventful, but was because there had been an incident on the journey which should have impacted him severely. Police called to see him at a restaurant after the Mass, to tell him that the driver of an oncoming SUV had lost control of the vehicle after he suffered a seizure while driving, and had passed out. The SUV had then swerved towards Father Bok's car ..... but miraculously it had hit a road sign, and literally become airborne.
The Miraculous Escape (my gif) |
It had then then flown over the car Father Bok was driving before crashing on the right hand of Bok's vehicle, but again miraculously landing on all 4 wheels, behind him. Father Bok had driven on, unaware of the accident ... or his narrow escape. He told the police that "Out of the corner of of my eye I sensed something went by, but I just thought it was a bird or [or a plane or superman .. my words LOL] something like that." .... he added that he was sure God had a hand in his survival.
The video was posted on YouTube (taken from a funeral homes security camera) and when Father Bok saw it he said 'When I see it, I just scratch my head and say, 'Thank you, Lord.' The driver of the SUV was apparently not injured in the accident either, but was admitted to a local hospital for check-up.
Father Bok added that if he got hit and his life was over, it would be a “win-win” situation because “heaven is going to be better than here.”
