He barely hides his intentions, and yet the British peoples just sit dumbly by and say nothing, while New Labour attempt to break up the United Kingdom for short term political fixes and advantage.
The labour Party only bought in devolution because they thought they might lose votes to the Scottish National Party (SNP), but a decade later its now an SNP regime in Edinburgh, and the conditions are set up, so that the SNP only has to win a referendum once to break away from The Union, while the non split parties have to win every time.
The break-up is therefore probably only a matter of time ..... and all just so Labour could win the 1997 elections. Oddly if they had any brains at all, they would have realised that if the SNP ever get their way, then the Labour party is finished in England, because
b) Because they have only once won the popular vote in England (1945), and would therefore be the permanent opposition.
Duh!
After a comment below, I suddenly realised that Frankie Brown was PM of the UK
Gordon Brown and Frankie Howard
It should be pointed out that the popular majority in Scotland do not want independance. In fact in an amazing reversal of political vote rigging, we only got devolution because the goalposts were moved.
ReplyDeleteLabour's misfortune at the last Scottish election, where despite 15% of all votes being lost or regarded as invalid, were brought upon themselves by their apparent disregard to the fortunes of Scottish business.
Truth be told, New Labour have damaged Scotland and it's infrastructure, more than Mrs.T and her cronies.
New Labour, have funnily enough become a true socialist party, by at last after nearly 100 years of existance, finally nationalised a private bank. However in Scotland socialism still exists, the SNP cunningly used this to it's advantage to get itself elected. However to be honest the only thing that wouldn't have beaten New Labour(Scotland) was the Glasgow Rangers.
Independance is bad for Scotland, it means us loosing out on all that nice cash you send us every year. In return we send you fat pop idols, dodgy right backs and the occasional Scottish historical drama filmed in Ireland. Fair swap!
Do us all a favour and find the skeletons in Brown's closet, and get rid of him. And as for Darling....he is well dodgy. Ex-Edinburgh council official who was heavily involved in the finance of the Scottish Parliment. And now he has the keys to the bank of UK.
Be afraid, be very afraid!
Hi Kev, I didn't expect you to comment LOL but good to hear from you.
ReplyDeleteI have been watching Brown's manoeuvers around making himself a bolt hole in Scotland with some interest. Actually I suspect that the SNP wouldn't win a straight referendum unless they can have several terms of office with "painless" power.
By the way, do you not think that with his tongue stuck in his cheek, he looks like Frankie Howard!
