Lost The Plot

Occasionally I write a post on the super heroes of this world, or rather those who come to public attention whilst dressed in a costume of some sort. Take the story of Abdullahi Hassan Abdullahi, a man who most definitely will be using the new European right to hide act, on his recent activities.

He was challenged by the police after being spotted wearing a hockey mask and carrying a samurai sword in Upper Holloway, North London following reports of a group of youths armed with bricks and sticks. He ran off and seemed to have escaped but the police found an abandoned bag containing the sword and not long afterwards caught this man. Obviously, in this time of beheading's, he was what is euphemistically called 'a person of interest' to the police and possibly now MI5.

Infamously Boring Last Words

Somewhat in the manner of the 19th century, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice keeps a record of any final last word statements of those executed on death row .... now apart from the fact that this event often takes place decades after they actually were sentenced, it also proves how boringly mundane these animals are.

Mostly they still fail to connect to their victims, or to their families really. Here's some examples:

Lester Bower - 30 years Plus On Death Row.

Lester Bower: Killed four men in 1983 while stealing an ultra-light air-plane. Three of the victims were unlucky witnesses after he had murdered a man selling an ultra-light for $4,000. Executed 03/06/2015 aged 67 and after six previous stays of execution. Nine prisoners had been on death row in Texas longer than Bower, but only one David Powell (who was executed in 2010 after 32 years on death row), was executed before him.

Police and court figures suggest that fewer than one in five people arrested for begging in England and Wales are actually homeless.
