...... not a word I ever thought I would write, and certainly not one I knew the meaning of!
Apparently its a rare medical condition that few people suffer from, despite it having a name. One such sufferer is Anna Smith-Higgs (a 44 year old professional Burlesque dancer - Stage name Cinnamon Cheeks), who said that the condition leaves her shaking with fear, and she can't eat anything associated with the cause of her illness.
So what is it that rouses such extreme reaction? .... its stickers, especially those on food such as bananas "They make me feel sick. Its the nasty sticky stuff on the back."
Ms Smith-Higgs has had serious medical episodes in the past, and was left disabled and paralysed after a Christmas Day 2004 stroke when she was only 24, and just weeks after having son Henry. She had lost the use of her right arm, and doctors warned her that she might never walk again.
She admits that for 2 years she was very nearly bed ridden and suffered deep depression ..... but she eventually resolved to recover for her son, and taught herself to walk again, partially by taking up burlesque dancing. Naturally right handed, she had to learn to do tasks with her left hand and even her foot.
She has accepted the fact that she will be partially disabled for the rest of her life, but now takes on every challenge head on ..... but those damn stickers have defeated her!
