We all have had days when we have forgotten to put out the bins and have had to wait a fortnight before that type of bin could be put out again (curse this recycling craze!!).

However housing complexes in here and the USA, often have a system of communal waste skips which can be both large and heavy lidded. One 60 year old lady in Manchester, New Hampshire discovered just how big, and heavy the lids were when she managed to fall inside one outside her housing complex on bin day. She found that she couldn't get out of the waste skip, and no one heard her cries for help.
Unfortunately for her the bin men arrived, but because of the noise of the operation the bin men didn't hear her cries for help either, and the bin lorry lifted the skip and poured into the compactor ..... she was compacted four times before eventually the driver heard her cries.
"All you heard was screaming," reported her neighbour Amanda Czzowitz after the woman had been rescued, but with very serious injuries. She was expected to survive, and as the local Fire Chief Bob Beaudet said "That was definitely one for the books!"
