| Changeling Chairs? |
.... so its not unusual for people to leave furniture outside on the kerb, abandoned or for refuse collection.
So it wasn't that odd for Conrad Duran and his girlfriend Andrea, a couple of students at the University of New Mexico, to pick up two chairs left abandoned at the side of the kerb on Christmas Eve 2020, and to take them home to try to fix them up for use inside their Albuquerque home. "I just grabbed them and left them outside of my garage door which is really not that close to the curb, then I had to go to work".
He returned home from his double shift that evening to find the chairs had been stolen. They thought no more about it, a minor annoyance to be sure, but not going to spoil their Christmas. "I've gotten a few items stolen from me over the years living here, ever since I moved here," Duran said. "It's one of those things where you come to terms with it."
However a few days later, they came out to find both the chairs returned, with a fresh coat of paint, and recovered upholstery.

Attached was anonymous note, which mentioned doing good for others. Conrad told the local media that "Now they just look absolutely beautiful" ....
