Nigeria, Two Countries, One State

The news that Muslims and Christians are fighting in Nigeria again (its a common occurrence in Nigeria), reminded me that the European Colonial era has not completely played itself out.

Africa's Ethnic And Colonial Legacy Borders 

By this I mean that the borders of some countries actually represent European spheres of economic influence and not real natural borders.

 

Free Bird

Having an International arrest warrant out against him, need not cramp a ‘world leaders’ style.

Omar al-Bashir

Omar al-Bashir, the President of The Sudan wanders freely as a bird o'er vales and hills, Africa, and most of the Middle East, despite being wanted International Criminal Court, on charges of genocide.

 

As long as he stays in Islamic and African countries he can't be touched. So much for world justice or opinion. 

Update: He was ousted from power and arrested in April 2019 ... he's been in detention ever since but wasn't sent to the ICC in the Hague .... the country is of course in the middle of yet another civil war.
