In a follow up to my recent posts on the demise of Hitler (it being yet another world war anniversary year), it was revealed this week, that the skull fragment that has been displayed in Moscow as being found alongside Hitler's jawbone, is in fact the skull of a woman.
One wonders if the KGB were so anxious to please Stalin, that they just sent him any old skull as that of "Hitler", which begs the question, where did his remains end up?

I saw a documentary on the identification of 'Hitler' and Stalin’s obsession with it. They suggested that the KGB were a bunch of buffoons who could barely lift a pistol to torture people.
ReplyDeleteThere were several stories about the 'remains'
1) The remains were actually destroyed by the KGB, somewhere in East Germany in the 1970's.
2) The Russians were actually given a couple of German bodies 'burnt’ by the Gestapo and buried where they would be found. The real remains are somewhere in the bunker complex (and now buried for ever).
3) The real remains were found but promptly lost in all the turmoil and the KGB just found two skeletons to send bits of back to Moscow. After all a bullet hole and petrol burns were easy to re-create.
So maybe we will never now know the truth, not that it matters as Hitler surely died in 1945.
