Phishing Is Obvious Really |
...but even funnier is how bad the attempts are.
Yet some idiots fall for them every day.
From the women who hand over money to scammers in the belief that its real love that they have met on line, to those who believe that they have won a lottery that they never entered, or that they have been chosen at random by a Nigerian prince who wants to give them money .... if only they hand over an administration fee of ££££'s or $$$$$'s.
Spontaneously Igniting Debit Cards |
The latest attempts doing the rounds is an attempt to defraud Barclays Bank customers, particularly in West Yorkshire. Bank customers there received letters warning that their debit cards could spontaneously "catch fire", and instructing them to post their cards and PIN numbers to an address in India. This was apart of "an urgent recall" .... laughably the letter also stated that the problem had been caused by a fault in the factory in "Molten Keynes".
Sadly you can almost bet that someone was caught out by this nonsense, and had their bank account emptied.
It's tempting to say that these victims deserved it but it's still wrong to punch someone even if you told them that you were going to do it.
ReplyDeleteGuilty as charged M'lud. I have told people that I was going to hit them if they did something and then did exactly that. Circumstances mate, circumstances.
