Next weekend is an English Bank Holiday ....
Its also the date of an election that the British people voted not to have.
It is of course elections for the European Parliament. But such has been the betrayal of the biggest democratic mandate in our history by our elected politicians, that we are being asked to vote for a parliament which we should have been divorced from.
Now apart from the opportunity to vent our rage with the pompous, self-opinionated anti-democratic asses in the main parties, there is little point in this election. However I did manage to glean at least one slither of humour this morning.
My post box contained electoral pamphlets from many of the main parties, as well as others from the fringe parties. All trying to solicit my vote .....
However also amongst the electoral bumph, was an advert for a sale, which featured a large Union Jack flag, with the legend "Keep Calm And Carry On" ...... I had to smile 😃
