Iran's ever more convoluted censorship laws, mean that physical contact between men and women is not permitted on TV screens in Iran.
Censors are also said to be required to remove men and women exchanging "tender words or jokes" (so no room for love and affection, even in marriage), unveiled women, close-ups of women's faces and exposed necklines, as well as negative portrayals of police and bearded men.
I tried to think what would be left in any movie once you had made all those cuts? I mean No 'unveiled women, close-ups of women's faces and exposed necklines' .... that's pretty well all scenes with women in them. Then even if any women survived this, then No "tender words or jokes", between men and women .... well that kills off all Rom/Coms (even Doris Day movies wouldn't survive this regime!!) .... but still, not all bad then.
Oh and by the way, you have to laugh that negative portrayals of police and bearded men are also banned .... you can hardly believe that a system like this is allowed to exist or accepted as normal.
Still the bromance for the bearded man is not just restricted to Islam ....

The primate of the Russian Orthodox Old Believer Church (which split from the main Russian church in 1666), Metropilitan Kornily, has issued a plea for all Russian men to grow beards. He has done so as he believes that not shaving will 'protect them from homosexuality'.
He explained to bemused questioners that "God set down certain rules. The Lord created everyone with a beard [what, even women? .... well maybe at Iranian football matches]. No man can resist his creator."
Talking of creation .... It appears that the Hindu creator made peacocks somewhat differently from other males in that they don't in fact have cocks ... at least according to one Indian High Court Judge.

Justice Mahesh Chandra Sharma of the Rajasthan High Court in India has declared that peacocks (India's national bird), don't have sex or mate to reproduce as they are too holy, and that "A peacock is a lifelong celibate".
He believes that the peahens fall pregnant, only when they have swallowed a peacocks tears.
Even in India, this provoked much social media derision, but its kind of worrying that this is a judge on the Indian High Court!
