.... has been developed by car manufacturer Nissan.
And lets be honest, many suspect that 'working from home' has unleashed a tidal wave of laziness in the UK population, which will no doubt be confirmed when the post pandemic productivity figures are produced. But judging from the behaviour of the public sector neighbours near me, when working from home, very little work for which they are being employed is being done, especially when the sun shines.

Anyway, that will no doubt be dealt with in the future, when and if its confirmed as being true .... back to Nissan's invention. The boffins there have produced a pair of 'self-parking' slippers. They will, if left unattended return to a designated parking spot in your house e.g. next to the bed.

The robotic footwear can navigate around obstacles but have a few obvious problems, such as the complete inability to climb stairs, or even effectively running away if you kick them off while on the sofa .... so they are only a demonstration of the technology, and will not be for sale soon (or ever), but were used to advertise a self parking version of a Nissan car in a TV advert.
Still, maybe a hint of the next Smart Home thing to come ... after all, you can work from home, order shopping from your PC, turn your heating up/down and control TV and fridge etc from your phone, soon the lazy man's nirvana will have been reached .... no legs needed.
