Strange Statistics

According to the Office of National Statistics ....

Black Gays .... USA

..... only 0.9% of the UK’s black population describe themselves as openly gay, compared to 2 - 3% of the total UK population (not the 10 - 15 per cent the BBC thinks). But it hasn't always been a subject that Black men couldn't admit to ... Oddly in pre-colonial Africa homosexuality was widely recognised.

Three Score And Ten

Bill Wyman is a musician who played in the rock band 'The Rolling Stones'. As such he is a minor celebrity, and so in our fame orientated society, that warrants some media attention. So the fact that the information that he had cancer made the BBC news is not too surprising, but what made me wonder, was the inherent suggestion in running the story, that it was a somehow a surprise that a 79 year old man was getting an illness. When I was younger, and certainly when Mr Wyman was growing up, 'old' men often died at around age 68 (women somewhat later), and anyone in their late 70's had done very well.

UKIP Ammunition

It's rare that anyone ever tells us exactly how many people from abroad live in the UK ..... but the BBC has provided the figures via the Office of National Statistics.

The Number Of EU Residents in the UK (Possibly)
The Number Of EU Residents in the UK (possibly)

The reason for all this honesty is that UKIP are on the rise ..... and the Politically Correct chattering classes of the left and the media are suddenly fearful that instead of the tame Tories, they will get the wild card UKIP party, pushing an agenda that they find anathema  .... leaving the EU, and stopping immigration.
