On the 7th of May 2019, Leonard Olsen a 70 year old driver was cruising in his car in Lakeland Florida when he was surprised to be stopped by the police.

They explained that they had filmed him standing up and sitting on top of the sunroof of his white Cadillac, as it thundered down the road at about 40 mph (64km/h) with no one at the controls.
Mr Olsen explained that it was alright as the car was on cruise control and besides "I thought it would be a nice way to praise God for a minute ... and that's what I did." When the police explained that this wasn't a good reason to not be at the wheel, rather than on the sunroof, he said he would rather be taken to jail, than back to his wife, who he claimed "treats me like a servant." ... he got his way, and was arrested and charged with reckless driving.
It also turned out that he had been charged with the domestic battery of his wife and there was a warrant out for his arrest. The violence had started after he grew angry that his wife had taken too long to come to bed and he had choked her. A few days later his temper led him to call his wife names and accuse his wife of having an affair. He then forced her to burn her clothes and remove her underwear.
He was subsequently charged with reckless driving, false imprisonment, violent battery by strangulation, and violent aggravated battery.
Cocky Florida Thief
In Florida a thief fleeing from police was tasered. Unfortunately as he was naked (yep, yet another naked thief in Florida), after stripping down in a store when a stolen steak fell out of his pockets, and resisting arrested. Unfortunately for him, the police taser hit him on the penis. Its safe to say that he surrendered immediately.

And continuing in my favourite US state of Florida, a deputy sheriff in Punta Gorda, stopped a pick-up truck after it ran a stop sign. The truck cap was occupied by a man and woman, and the officer approached them to ask if the had good reason for not stopping.
The man, Michael Clemons 22 told him that he and his female companion Ariel Machan-Le Quire (both in their 20's), had been collecting frogs and snakes under an underpass, although that's hardly an excuse for running a stop sign, but I'm not a Floridian.
The deputy, not being satisfied searched the truck cab and the couples possessions, and in Ms Machan-Le Quire's backpack he found 41 three-striped turtles. When asked if she had anything else, she pulled a foot long (30cm) alligator out of her yoga pants.
They later both pleaded guilty to a number of wildlife breaches. In August 2019 she was given six months probation. She also had to complete 200 hours of community service and donate $500 to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Committee. In September 2019 he got probation for a year, and had to complete 100 hours of community service, pay court costs, and make a $250 donation to the Wildlife Alert Fund.
However, in what I have to assume is a coincidence of names, in October 2019, a man named as Michael Clemons, 23, along with an associate, Michael Boesenberg, aged 39, both of Fort Myers, Florida, were arrested for large scale illegal poaching and sales of Turtles. There was also a Facebook post entitled "Mike Clemons Florida Man" complaining that the arrested Mr Clemons was still dealing in other endangered species such as jumping spiders as well as Turtles.

Now either there are a large number of Michael or Mike Clemons in Florida, all illegally trafficking wild animals in that state .... or this is two men with a coincidence of names and interests, or more likely one man who is a danger to the rare and endangered animals and insects of Florida.
I can't tell which of those statements is true, as no one has made the connection on the individual stories between the Michael Clemons arrested with his girlfriend at the top of this story, and the Michael or Mike Clemons who was arrested for industrial scale poaching and trafficking, and whom the facebook poster complains about.
What a state Florida is ..... its the never changing heat you know that sends them all batty.
