.... noticeably Islamic extremists/terrorist, but few say that god actually commanded them to do so.
However in September 2020 in New South Wales, Australia, a former Christian youth minister, set fire to a Hillsong Church property, and then to Lismore's St Carthage's Cathedral, resulting in $1.3 million worth of damage to the Church, and then he went on a week long crime spree, stealing both money and cars, until he was eventually caught and arrested.He started on the 14th, when he threatened a 20-year-old Sydney woman with a knife, and stole her Volkswagen Polo, phone, and her credit cards and $375. He later attempted to rob another two young women at a Sydney train station without success.
He then used pink paint to write crude graffiti about Brian Houston and (his ex-wife’s current husband) and his ex-wife, who apparently ..... ‘Sucks Brian’s cock like a prison bitch’..... he then lit a few fires at the church and the Houston's house.
Not content, the fire he lit at Lismore’s St Carthage’s Catholic Church caused $1.3 million in damage .... he then went on to facebook and admitted to the arsons (but not the robbery and car theft). Eventually he was confronted by the police, but refused to surrender and during the confrontation with the police at Lismore on September 19, he pulled out a large hunting knife and told police to shoot him. But the police declined, and simply pepper-sprayed and tasered Stephen Luke like a 'prison bitch' to disarm him.
When 47 year old Stephen Luke appeared in Lismore District Court in Sydney, he explained to the court that his excuse was that "God wanted me to do it!" .... but he also admitted that he had stopped taking his medication for mental health problems six months before these incidents .... he was sentenced to seven years in jail .... but as usual, with a non-parole period of three-and-a-half years, and with time already served, he was eligible for release in March 2024.
Incidentally the aforementioned Brian Houston, who founded Hillsong, had some legal problems of his own, as he defended himself against allegations that he covered up his fathers acts of child abuse. He stood trial, but in August 2023, he was found not guilty.
