Firstly an explanation: the Ankole-Watusi is according to Wiki, a modern American breed of domestic cattle. It derives from the Ankole group of Sanga cattle breeds of east and central Africa which are characterized by very large horns .... bigger than the Texas long-horn .... much, much bigger.
However in August 2023, the police in Norfolk, Nebraska received a call about "a car driving into town that had a cow in it," and officers responded to the reports. What they saw took them aback.
The man was driving a converted car with a massive bull on the converted passenger's seat, so that the huge animal could stand or sit beside him with his head and giant horns sticking out where the roof had once been and its horns exceeding the width of the vehicle's wind-shield. "They thought that it was going to be a calf, something small or something that would actually fit inside the vehicle," said Captain Reiman.
Now in Nebraska, at least one farmer or small holder, Lee Meyer of Neligh, Nebraska, keeps a Watusi. They are "buddies" and Mr Meyer takes the animal with him whenever he can. Its named Howdy Doody .... but the police pulled the vehicle over. They noted that a sign on the cattle railing on the side of the vehicle, read “Nebraska’s Big Rodeo Parade: Best Car Entry.”
“The officer wrote him some warnings,” Reiman told the news outlets. “There were some citable issues with that situation. The officer chose to write him a warning and asked him to take the animal back home and leave the city.” No further action was taken, and Mr Meyer and Howdy Doody continued on their way back to Neligh.
Its not known if fellow road users greeted them with horns ..... sorry.
