Je Suis Charlie

The Blood soaked altars of Islam claimed some more sacrificial victims today, when twelve more brave men and women were murdered by Islamic Jihadists, this time at the offices of the left-wing and secular satirical magazine 'Charlie Hebdo' in Paris France.

But, in the week in which thousands have marched in Germany under the banner of the name 'Pegida', against the 'Islamisation' of Europe, it has also brought into sharp relief, the debate the between the Western European concepts of 'Freedom of Speech', and the concept of 'Freedom of Religion'. Does the right of people to practise their religion (no matter how odious), outweigh the rights of those of whose who think they are either deluded, or dangerous, or both?

Of course ironically, the left-wing in Germany counter marched to 'support' the Muslims .... how many will do so next time?

Charlie Hebdo had been attacked before by petrol bombs, however on that occasion no one was hurt, but this time it wasn't just the ten men and women of the editorial staff, and the two policemen outside, who have been killed, it was also a bloody assault on core European Values.... the very same values that allow those Muslims who detest the West, to spout their hatred, and yet still live here in safety (certainly compared to the treatment of non Muslims in Islamic societies).

Once again the Gates of Vienna are being pushed by the forces of backwardness .... its up to us all not to blink, or our cowardly politicians will appease these barbarians in the name of 'cohesion' .... the only real response would be for every publication in Europe to publish the Mohammed cartoons again on their front covers, and let Jihadists see that the days of being able to force acquiescence from our press are over.

When last they were attacked, the editor Stephane Charbonnier (who died today), said that Islam should not be excluded from 'freedom of the press' to comment in the West. He added that "If we can poke fun at everything in France, if we can talk about anything in France apart from Islam, or the consequences of Islamism, that is annoying."

He bravely added that "This is the first time we have been physically attacked, but we won't let it get to us" .... to my shame I suspected that it would get to them editorially ..... they proved me wrong, but at a terrible price.

Another Bunch Of Religious Zealots

While the C of E continues to debate how to finally abandon actual religious dogma, the Iranian Shiites are still enforcing 'old time religion' like the 7th century was only last week.

Yes they are still whipping and stoning women and male adulterers as though it was only yesterday that Allah had commanded them to do so ..... oddly, despite their claim that Jesus is a 'prophet' of Islam, obviously his command that 'only he is without sin should cast the first stone' is is to be completely ignored in favour of inflicting torture and pain, mainly on women. Under pressure from the world community they have 'suspended' the stoning of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, although crucially they have not said that she won't be killed some other way...... she has already been given 99 lashes witnessed by her son, then in his late teens. 

As this blog has discussed before, stoning women to death is still 'alive and well' in the Islamic world ..... at least the Iranians are 'equal opportunity stoners' with men as well as women stoned, although, its made harder for women ...somehow.

I won't post any pictures of the horror that is a stoning, but simply searching for 'stonings' and images, show the degradation and terror that bearded men of god inflict, when given unrestricted power over ordinary men and women's lives. Every person of conscience should think about this poor woman and the other both men and women who face death for nothing at the hands of Sharia laws.

Same Old Crap As Last Year

Sadly we are barely into 2010 before Islam and its violent followers force me to examine once again the threat they pose to free thought, speech, belief and expression.

Yesterday a Somali linked to the radical Islamist al-Shabab militia was shot and wounded after unsuccessfully attempting to hack danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard to death in his home. Mr Westergaard, is famous for being one of the *cartoonists in the Danish newspaper Jyllands Posten, "Mohammed" row.

While in Pakistan a suicide bomber decided to take a short cut to paradise by killing over 90 people and injuring hundreds, by blowing them and himself up at a volleyball game.

Now if anyone can explain to me what sort of 'paradise' is it, when it's packed with mass murderers, and why any good person would want to share it with them then I would be grateful, because its obvious that I and billions of non believers, are completely missing the point. And so apparently are the 'martyrs' if this report on a fundamental translation error in the Quran is true (it was written in Syriac and Aramaic before being translated into Arabic later).

A self professed 'religion of peace' (aka 'submission'), yet its killed many thousands (mostly of its own adherents) in the last couple of years (ignoring the millions over the centuries) and says the killers are welcomed by its god..... whats that all about?

I was trawling through a list of incidents (and its a very big list but by no means exhaustive) and the sheer horror of some of the attacks is almost unbelievable, when I noticed this one.

"2009.07.02: London - A 24-year-old Danish Asian man is blinded, suffers the loss of his tongue and 90% burns during an 'honor' attack in which he was forced to drink acid and had it thrown on him by angry Muslims." - he was also stabbed twice and beaten.

I didn't remember this in the news ....... so I checked it out.

First the BBC, surely such a horrific crime would be fully reported? Actually no, barely a few paragraphs on the England news web pages. Absolutely no mention that the attackers of the Danish Asian man were of Pakistani descent and performing an 'honour' attack. No follow up stories.

Well maybe some other major news group?

Err no, to get a full report on this horror event I had to go to The London Paper which gave details of this barbaric crime. With a police warning for the safety of the young woman involved after the attack about the liklihood that her own male relatives would do the same to her.

To me this lack of coverage speaks volumes.

On any level a crime of such medieval barbarism should get major coverage, but apparently either in the UK this sort of crime is so common that its not shocking or newsworthy enough, or the UK press is now in 'Dhimmitude' and refuses to report certain 'multicultural' crimes?

I guess I know which I believe to be true ...........

Another Day, Another Stoning

Once again the Mullahs have shown the world what "Sharia" really means, with reports that a 20-year-old woman divorcee who was convicted of committing adultery in Somalia, has been stoned to death by Islamists in front of a crowd of about 200 people. We have to assume that the Koranic required 'four witnesses' were found (or is that only when a woman's raped?).

It is totally beyond me how any rational people can continue to defend this 'religion' ...... its backward looking and beyond the norms of the civilised world. Oh, the 'boyfriend'? He was given a public flogging, but wasn't killed. This is the fourth reported stoning in Somalia this year (and to be fair it has included a man, and the pregnant woman has been spared the stoning until after she gives birth).

We move ever closer to this being accepted as of equal cultural value to western liberal values.

Britains Lack Of Free Speech Protection

The recent decision by the Bedfordshire hate crimes unit to arrest a British blogger ... the email apparently reads, ".... the offence that I need to arrest you for is "Stir up Racial Hatred by displaying written material" contrary to sections 18(1) and 27(3) of the Public Order Act 1986. You will be arrested on SUSPICION of the offence." .... highlights the real need for a UK constitution that guarantees real freedom of speech, before what little we have left is eroded under a stream of PC motivated legislation that makes some religions areas, subjects that can't be discussed.

Now I don't know what particular comments from the blogger, known as "Lionheart", caused this apparent promise of arrest, apart from the fact that he apparently takes a hard line against Islam and Muslim immigrants in Britain, and it may well be, that he has in fact transgressed the vague UK laws on inciting 'racial hatred', but, if his 'offence' was merely to state a 'fact', or what he genuinely believed to be fact, then it's a sad comment on the state that the UK is falling into.

I suspect that there are many web sites and blogs, that now tread a thin line when discussing Islam in the UK, but I take the view that expressing an honest opinion is still protected by juries, if not by the police, or PC orientated bodies such as the Bedfordshire hate crimes unit.

The fact that the vast majority of the population probably want to be protected from having our freedoms eroded in this manner, means that as usual, our do nothing politicians are failing us once again.

It is also very telling that this story was not reported on the BBC, or other UK News media, but was reported in the US news, and on blogsites, in much the same manner as the arrest of bloggers in Muslim countries are ignored on the local state media, and passed on to the "free" press via local bloggers ..... coincidence?

Muslim scholars letter to Christian Leaders

"Muslim scholars reach out to Pope" is the headline as today, a number of Muslim ‘scholars’ have issued an open letter to the Pope and other Christian leaders stating that for the ‘sake of 'world peace’ there should be greater ‘understanding’ between Christianity and Islam.

The Pope Being Taught Religion ......

The letter apparently emphasises the commonalities of the religions such as the worship of the ‘same god’, the shared prophets, and that Mohammed was told the same truths that had already been revealed to other prophets, Christian and Jewish, including Jesus.
